Robert Earl Barnett 1930 to 2024
Leaving a legacy of devotion to his faith and family Robert Earl Barnett of Orchard Park went to be with Jesus on October 18, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Betty Louise Barnett, and the cherished father of Debra (Gary) Beers, Judy (John) Hilliker and Randall (Karen) Barnett. He was the stepfather to Tom (Marcia) Taylor and Mark (Philip Kuznicki) Taylor. Predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy (Nickie) Nicklas Barnett. He was the grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Born in Independence, Iowa on August 11, 1930, Bob was one of eight siblings of the late Clarence and Lucy Barnett. After graduating from Houghton College in 1952, he received a Master’s degree at Alfred University. He served four years in the United States Air Force as a navigator and instructor stationed in Waco, Texas. He taught chemistry and physics for 36 years at Forestville Central School retiring in 1993. Throughout his lifetime he was a New York State track official, member of the Gideons, sang tenor with the Chapel Echoes Gospel Quartet, led senior church trips, served on the church board, was a mentor with the Buffalo City Mission, sang in the church choir and a member of the Friday Crew at Orchard Park Wesleyan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gideon’s International or Orchard Park Wesleyan Church.
The family will receive friends Saturday October 26, 2024, 10:00am followed by a funeral service at 11:00am at the Orchard Park Wesleyan Church 7295 Ellicott Rd. Orchard Park, NY.
