Nancy Roder

 Nancy Roder, 65, of Orchard Park, passed away from complications of progressive supranuclear palsy on October 30th, 2025 in her home.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Steven Roder, her two children, Daniel and Allison Roder and her siblings MaryPat Dolan (late husband David), Mike Dolan (wife Connie), Tim Dolan (wife Jill), Tom Dolan (partner Steve), Ann Dolan (husband Jim), Mark Dolan (wife Sue), Chris Dolan (wife Erin), and Jim Dolan (wife April), as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy Dolan, brother, John Dolan, nephew, Trevor Dolan, and brother-in-law, David Kerness.

Born on July 1, 1960 in Norwich, NY, Nancy was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy Dolan. She graduated from Norwich High School in 1978, and went on to earn her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Buffalo in 1984. She spent her entire 38-year career with the Catholic Health Systems, first as a staff nurse at Sisters Hospital, then in staff development, and finishing her career as a clinical support specialist for the hospital’s ER and anesthesia systems.

Nancy was full of life. She had a passion for giving and helping people, making everyone around her feel included, seen, and special. She was always making new friends, in the neighborhood and at church, and she was known in the neighborhood for walking her dog, Mika, at a fast clip many times a day. She loved to tell stories, reminiscing about her life growing up as the eighth of ten children. She spent many summers, almost every year between 1991 and 2023, at her favorite place, Topsail Island – a place that will forever remind us of her love. She was a kind, considerate, and generous soul who loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.

To honor Nancy’s life, there will be a wake from 4-7PM on November 13th, 2025, at F.E. Brown and Son’s Funeral Home at 6575 E. Quaker St, Orchard Park, NY 14127. A service will be held on November 14th, at 10AM at Nativity Lutheran Church, 970 E. Main Street, East Aurora NY, 14052. All are welcome.
