Nancy Roder

October 30, 2025 of Orchard Park. Beloved wife of Steve Roder of 40 years. Loving Mother of Daniel Roder and Allison Roder. Thirty eight year career as a Nurse and Clinical Support Specialist at Catholic Health Systems.

Nancy Elizabeth Dolan was born in Norwich, NY, (John and Dorothy Dolan), siblings, Mary Pat (late David), (late) John, Michael (Connie), Tim (Jill), Tom (Steve), Ann (Jim), Mark (Sue), Chris (Erin), and Jim (April). She graduated from Norwich High School in 1978. She went on to earn her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at the University of Buffalo (1984), where she met her husband-to-be, Steven Roder in 1981. Steve and Nancy were married on October 5th, 1985. She started her 38-year career at Catholic Health in 1986 as a staff nurse at Sisters Hospital. In the early 90s, she transitioned into Staff Development, teaching in-services to new staff. Nancy was also a certified ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) instructor. She finished her career in the IT department as a Clinical Support Specialist for the Hospital Systems' ER and Anesthesia Systems.

Nancy was full of Life, loving to tell stories like only she could. One of her favorite places to visit was Topsail Island, NC, where she and her family vacationed nearly every summer from 1991 until 2023. Buffalo Ski Club was another favorite place to find the Roders on a winter's day. She loved to read and spend time with her children, Dan and Allison. Nancy also enjoyed meeting and talking with seniors in our neighborhood, and at Church, as well as walking her dog Mika at a fast clip 3 times a day. She was a kind, considerate, and generous soul who will be missed by all those who knew her.

The family will receive friends Thursday, November 13th from 4pm – 7pm at the F. E. BROWN SONS FUNERAL HOME, 6575 E. Quaker St. Orchard Park, NY. Services on Friday, November 14th at 10am at Nativity Lutheran Church, 970 E Main St, East Aurora, NY 14052. Friends invited.
