John F. Schleifer, Jr.

August 12, 1945 — November 9, 2023

Schleifer, John F., Jr.; Entered into rest Thursday, November 9th after a long battle with multiple myeloma and sarcoma cancers. Beloved husband and best friend of Karen (Peterson) Schleifer. Proud father of John III (Shannon) and Brad (Amy) Schleifer. Loving grandfather (Bompa) of Grant and Luke Schleifer. Son of John and Ethel Schleifer. Brother of Gerrie (Jerry) Schneggenburger, Lynn (Tony) Glieco, and Eric (Penny) Schleifer. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. John was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. John spent 35 years working in the West Seneca Central School District as a teacher, guidance counselor, coach, and administrator. John served his country as an officer in the Army National Guard. John played football and hockey for the University of Buffalo. John graduated from Kensington High School and the University of Buffalo. He is a member of the Buffalo Harvard Cup Hall of Fame and the West Seneca Central School District Hall of Fame. John enjoyed fishing with his many buddies. He was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 11 AM in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1080 Main Street, Buffalo, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in John’s name may be made to the Hospice Foundation of WNY or Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center
