JoAnn Kester Ingle, 85, of Saint Augustine, Florida, passed away on January 23, 2024, at Advent Health Hospital in Celebration, FL. Born and raised in West Seneca, New York, she attended Alfred University where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in nursing as a BSRN in 1960. She often spoke of her times in clinical training and the interesting patients along the way. While at Alfred University, JoAnn met the love of her life, Thomas W. Ingle, and they were engaged on campus and later married after graduation in July of 1960. JoAnn and Tom settled in Orchard Park, New York as the place to start their family. She raised three children while working as an emergency room nurse in Buffalo. Later in her career, JoAnn wanted to give back to the profession she loved and joined the New York State BOCES program where she helped many former students become licensed practical nurses. She enjoyed camping, traveling, and spending time with her family. JoAnn and Tom traveled the entire country and they always met new friends along the way. The countless Inns, bed and breakfasts, and campsites became cherished memories that were shared with family and friends. After retirement with Tom in 1997, she relocated from Orchard Park to Saint Augustine, Florida. She enjoyed traveling to Europe as well as visiting her children and grandchildren.
