Rev. Jerrold D. Paul, PhD
November 14, 1937 - September 23, 2025
Jerrold (Jerry) Paul of Orchard Park, NY passed away on September 23, 2025. He is survived by his brothers Bill, Ron, and Wayne Paul, his children, Rebecca (Karyen Chu), Andrew (Anne Hill), and J.D. Paul (Julianne Yazbek), grandchildren Linnea and Rowan Paul, and many other loving relatives.
Jerry was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on November 14, 1937, the fourth of five sons of Howard and Margaret Paul. He grew up in Greentree, where his father ran Greentree Dairy, and Jerry spent time driving the truck delivering milk to customers' homes and candling eggs. He graduated from Westminster College where he majored in English and Greek and ran track. After college he served as a missionary in Egypt, where he taught English. After returning to the US, Jerry received a Master of Divinity and a Master of Theology from Princeton Seminary. He served as a Presbyterian minister at churches in New Jersey and Western New York. He subsequently trained in Transactional Analysis and received a Ph.D. in psychology from Sierra University. He established a clinical psychotherapy practice at the Niagara Institute and later at the River of Life Journey Center. He also continued to serve as an interim minister at numerous Presbyterian churches in Western New York.
Jerry enjoyed being outside: biking, hiking, and canoeing, and taking care of his garden and yard. He especially loved the Colorado mountains. Jerry also cherished spending time with his grandchildren and dear friends. He volunteered with Habitat for Humanity for a number of years.
A service celebrating Jerry's life is being planned for late December. Specific details will be added here as they become available.
In lieu of flowers we invite you to donate to Habitat for Humanity Buffalo in his name.
