Jay received his Juris Doctor Degree in 1980 from Valparaiso University School of Law and never looked back. He loved his job and genuinely cared about his clients right up until the end. He also devoted many hours to various boards and committees that were close to his heart including the Niagara Lutheran Health Foundation, Camp Pioneer, and the Lutheran Service Society. Jay was a wonderful family man and truly valued every minute he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren, especially their annual vacations to the Finger Lakes. Jay loved playing sports, especially soccer which he excelled at, and golf (which he was still working on). He loved going to Crag Burn and always looked forward to his yearly golf trip with his Theta Chi buddies. He often mentioned how blessed he felt to have so many amazing friends in every aspect of his life. Jay was able to make just about anybody laugh and he will be remembered for his quick wit and his kindness. Memorials may be made to Hospice Buffalo, Inc. or the Niagara Lutheran Health Care System.
