BRIGGS, Jacqueline L.

Jacqueline L. Briggs (Nee Waterrose) prior marriage to Walter F Hunt and widow of George A Briggs passed away on September 18, 2026, at age 89, leaving behind a profound legacy of service, history, and family. Jacqueline worked for 30 years as the Health Information Director at the Erie County Home, authored a book detailing its history, and served in various posts with AHIMA. A mentor to many college interns and an active community voice, she volunteered with the Orchard Park Community Activity Center (formerly the Community Activity Council).

Loving mother of Steven (Sharyn), John (Alejandra), Janet Hunt, and Jennifer (Joseph) Ray. Cherished grandmother of 6 Christopher, John Paul Hunt, Diana (Anthony) Pirrone, Sean Ray, Erin Ray and Karina (James) Walsh, great-grandmother of 4.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 11 AM at the Orchard Park Community Activity Center (4600 California Rd, Orchard Park, NY). A reception will follow on site. Please email RSVP to yareoj52@gmail.com for attendance to the memorial.
