I have a window seat in my room.

I made it 19 years ago, when I found out I was to have a son.

I had always wanted one.

I sit in it all the time when I want to be alone. 

I like to sit there and listen to the sounds of the seasons.

I like to have the window open too.

I try to have it open in all types of weather, but sometimes I have to close it when it rains too hard.

I was up there this morning reading, and I saw that Jack Frost had been there.

He left on my window, wonderful patterns.

These patterns were feathery, fern-like patterns.

They remind me that Spring is on its way.

They also remind me of the fern garden my grandmere planted for me when I was born.

That is why I like to sit in my window seat.
