David G. Hecht

Hecht, David G.; of Orchard Park, NY, passed away July 16, 2024. Beloved husband of 58 years to the late Margaret A. (nee Krehbiel) Hecht. Loving father of Susan L. (Michael) Burney and Robin (James) Crowley; devoted and cherished grandfather of Matthew Burney, David (Kiersten), and Jack Crowley; adoring great grandfather to Joey Crowley; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. David graduated with a business degree from Lehigh University in 1960 and then went on to complete his MBA from Seton Hall University. He and Margaret moved to Orchard Park to raise their family in 1974 when David started working at Williams Gold Refining, where he eventually became the Executive Vice President. David was a member of various charitable boards during his time living in Orchard Park. Upon retirement, he and Margaret moved to South Carolina, where he was a docent at Beaufort History Museum. David was proud of his 65-year friendship with his Kappa Sigma fraternity brothers of Lehigh University. He was a Buffalo Bills season ticket holder for over 40 years. David was a volunteer at St. Mark's Episcopal Church for decades. He was on the vestry, did the accounting, was an advisor for the youth group, to name just a few. David enjoyed history, classical music, cars, golf but mostly spending time with his family who miss him dearly. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday, August 10th at 10 AM in St. Mark Episcopal Church, 6595 E. Quaker Street, Orchard Park, NY. Flowers gratefully declined.
