Bruce Stanwood Hayden

Hayden, Bruce Stanwood, of Orchard Park, NY. Dec. 13, 1934-Jul. 18, 2024. Beloved partner of Ann Blask, husband of the late Rosalind Hayden and wonderful father of Bruce, Jr., Michael (Joyce), Kenneth (Vicky) Kevin (Shana), Daniel (Barbara), Dennis (Tanya), and Ellen Fitzpatrick. Grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was the “big brother” of six siblings, Gail (late Norman) Bartnik, the late Ronald (late Maureen), late Ralph (survived by Loretta), late Warren, late Clifford and Donna Mills. He was a hospital corpsman who served in the US Navy and the Marines. After his military service he became a lieutenant with the Buffalo Fire Department. Bruce was an avid hiker and some of his most memorable hikes were the Appalachian Trail, the High Sierras and four times completing the entire Camino de Santiago. Besides hiking, he loved to travel. During his 33 years with Ann, they enjoyed traveling the world visiting six continents. The family will be present Monday, July 22nd from 3 to 7 PM at the F.E. Brown Sons Funeral Home, 6575 E. Quaker Street, Orchard Park, NY. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 23rd at 11 AM in Nativity of Our Lord Church, 26 Thorn Avenue, Orchard Park, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Buffalo, Inc.
