Of Orchard Park, NY, September 7, 2024, age 62. Beloved husband of 38 years to Susan Niver Percy; devoted father of David (Christine) and Jonathon (Kassandra) Percy, adored grandfather of Nora Percy; loving son of John and Donna Percy, amazing brother to Mark (Amy) Percy and Allison Percy. Alan was born and raised in the Western New York area and graduated from Alfred State College and the University at Buffalo. Alan had several careers starting as a computer scientist at a local defense contractor and ending as a Chief Marketing Officer for an international telecommunications company. Alan dedicated much of his free time to voluntarism. At the time of his death, Alan sat on the board of WNY Scout Council, ran a high adventure canoeing program for the Scouts, and sat on the board of the Chestnut Ridge Conservancy. In addition, he was an active leader with Cub Scout Pack 483, while being active with Scout Troop 483 for over 20 years. He helped numerous young men, including his own sons, achieve their Eagle rank and grow into community leaders. Alan had many interests in life including motorcycles, Rushford Lake, travel, gadgets, camping, tailgating, and computers. Alan lived big, loved hard and laughed out loud. He passed quick, surrounded by family, listening to his favorite music. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends at the F.E. Brown Sons Funeral Home, 6575 East Quaker Street, Orchard Park, NY on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 4 – 8 PM. Interment will be private in the Hillcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the WNY Scout Council or the Chestnut Ridge conservancy.
