Shanahan, Thomas Joseph, Jr.; October 29, 2023; beloved husband of Jean Marie (Worth) Shanahan; dearest father of Thomas Cortland (Bonnie) Shanahan, Michael Joseph Shanahan and John Anthony Shanahan; devoted grandfather to Matthew George and Mary Emma Shanahan; son of the late Thomas Joseph Shanahan, Sr. and Helen (Langan) Shanahan; dear brother of Jeanne (Gene) Ford and the late James (late Bernie) Shanahan and the late Mary Anne (survived by Bruce) Stellrecht; also survived by his loving aunt Gerri Kozlowski, nieces and nephews. Thomas was a parishioner at Nativity of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, Orchard Park, NY from 1990 till present, where he was a Eucharistic Minister, supporter, Mary, Mother of Vocations Ministry, and other church ministries. A parishioner at St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, Orchard Park, NY (1986 to 1990), and a parishioner at St. Mary Queen of the Rosary, Strykersville, NY (1968 to 1986). Mr. Shanahan graduated from Baker-Victory High School in Lackawanna, NY in 1960, obtained his Bachelor of Arts from King's College, Wilkes-Bare, PA in 1964, and then went on to obtain his Master of Science in Education from Niagara University in 1975. Thomas retired as Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, New York State Education Department , Vocational & Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID). The family will be present on Friday, November 3rd, from 4 to 8 PM at the FE Brown Sons Funeral Home, 6575 East Quaker Road, Orchard Park, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10 AM in Nativity of Our Lord Church, 26 Thorn Avenue, Orchard Park, NY. Please assemble at church.
